Last Minute Decisions................Great!!!

So on Friday we were decorating the halls for Christmas week. Heidi and Shantelle were there and Heidi suddenly remembered that she had to sing in church on Sunday and didn't have a song ready or anything. So Shany and I said we would sing with her. So on Saturday we drove out to Nielson's, right after is snowed, and picked a song and went through it a few times then we watched a movie and spent the night. This morning we got to the church and went through it with our piano player and then a couple hours after that we sang it in Sacrament Meeting and it sounded great!!!.........................I wish all last minute decisions worked out that way.

Milking the Goat

Last week was Sweetheart and I was the candidate for Band. We had to draw a poster, make a cake, and participate in the assembly. In the assembly we had to milk a goat, rope, move bails of hay, and a relay race. Then at the very end we had the tug-o-war. The next night we had a talent assembly and they announced the royalty. It was a fun week but I was really glad to get it over with.

All-State Choir 2008

On Thursday we went up to Salt Lake and had our first rehearsal that evening. The next day we had rehearsals all day. We had a couple hours for lunch and dinner but we spent the majority of the day practicing. Then on Saturday morning we packed our stuff into the suburban and went to Temple Square. We had a couple of hours until our final rehearsal so we went to watch the Joseph Smith movie and then walked around for a little bit. We had to be in line at 12:30 and then we were seated at 1:00. We practiced till 4:00 then had a break for dinner. We went to eat at the Olive Garden. We finished our dinner about half an hour before we had to be in out seats. The concert started at 7:30 and the choir from USU sang and then there was an Organ solo. Then we sang our songs. We sang Jubilate Deo by Mack Wilberg, Alleluia by Ralph Manuel, Laudate Nomen by Carlyle Sharp, Stars I Shall Find by David Dickau, Deamon Irrepit Callidus, by Gyorgy Orban, Cloudburts by Eric Whitacre, and He Never Failed Me Yet by Robert Ray. They were all fun pieces but I thin my most favorite was Cloudbust. I had a really fun time and enjoyed being on Temple Square on Saturday. It was a really great experience. And it was way fun to sing with that many people in the tabernacle. Our choir was about 680 people. It was so cool.

The Musical

At the first of the week we had try-outs for the musical. This year we are doing Into the Woods (as you can see from the picture). I tried out on Tuesday. I was a little disappointed with my tryout. It didn't go as well as I had hoped. Well today We found out the castings. I am Jack's mother. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get either of the roles that I tried out for but I did get a part. I'm really excited about it. It will be tons of fun. The dates for the play are Nov. 20 - 24. It's gonna be so cool.

Senior Pictures - Round 1

Mom and I went to the Canyon today and took some pictures. Well a lot. And this is only the first. We're gonna go to the park sometime and take some more. Then during Thanksgiving Aunt Peggy's gonna take some up at Grandma's. I'm really excited for that. Mom hopes that we could take some in the park after it snows. Maybe.

Cross-country, Delta meet

Yesterday Daniel and I had a Cross-country meet. It was a great day to run cause right before it rained a little and the wind wasn't blowing as hard as it usually does. So it wasn't quite as hot. Daniel did really well but I haven't run for a while and this was my first meet. I finished and my time was 38.10. Mom and Candi were doing peaches but they both came to watch us run. And then they finished them after they got home. I would have helped but I had to go the football game. We played Moapa Valley and won. Everyone thought we were going to lose cause they won state in Nevada last year. So with all that yesterday was pretty busy.............and tiring.

Homecoming '08

I went to Homecoming this last week and had lots of fun. Saturday we went to the Canyon and played Frisbee. We ate and then went and played tag in the amphitheater. We ran around on the benches and if you fell off you were it. Then we came home and I went to Teresa's to get ready cause mom and dad were at the BYU game. They came and picked us up at eight and then we went and ate dinner then went to the dance.

Youth Conference

Last week we went to youth conference over to Snow. It was lots of fun. When we got there we ate lunch, checked into our apartments, and then headed up to the ropes course. I admit I am chicken and didn't go on any of the courses. They are just to high for me. The next day we played a bunch of games and then went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant that night. On Thursday Morning we had a testimony meeting and then came home.
